Sister spirit

16-year-old Tara, a mixed-race girl adopted by white parents, has never felt like she truly belonged. When her nights become haunted by frightening visions of a distant past, Tara begins to experience an overwhelming feeling of emptiness. On the verge of despair, she embarks on a journey in search of her roots and enrols in a boarding school at the foot of Olumo Rock in Nigeria, the same rock she has been seeing in her visions. As she tries to make friends and adjust to her new school, her dreams darken and throw her into 19th century Yorubaland marked by inter-tribal wars. As Tara begins to unravel the connection between herself and the visions in her dreams, she must face the certainty of her true terrifying identity and make a choice that could cost her her life.
