Finger bone

£13.99

Finger Bone depicts the experience of a Japanese private on the island of New Guinea as the tide of the Pacific War turns against the Japanese. Much of the novel is set in a field hospital away from the action, where medical supplies are running out and men are succumbing to disease. Each time a man dies, an orderly cuts off the finger of the deceased, so the bone can be delivered to the fallen soldier’s family in Japan.
